When to use the Summary, Diligence, and ClauseSense tools

  • When to use
    • Summary: For when you need cliff-note style summaries of specific contracts, like PPA, O&M, Tax Equity, EPC, and more.
    • Diligence: A ChatGPT style Q&A conversation with your material. Supports any PDF.
    • ClauseSense Tracker: Find compliance items. Identify, extract, format, and track important covenants and compliance items. Receive email reminders to perform the task.
    • PowerReg: In the Dilligencen tool. Tracks all 7 ISO’s BPM’s and tariffs, updated daily.
  • What is a prompt?
    • A prompt is the instruction or question you give to an AI to get a specific response. Think of it like giving directions—you tell the AI what you need, and it responds based on what you asked. A well-crafted prompt helps guide the AI to provide clear, accurate, and useful answers. If the prompt is too vague or unclear, the response might not be helpful. In AI tools like ChatGPT, prompts are essential because they shape the quality of the output, making them a key part of getting the right information quickly and efficiently.
    • How do I prompt ContractPower?
      • Summary Module: A collection of either pre-made prompts made by ContractPower or prompts made by you, the user.
        • When to use?
          • If you reference a document type with the same questions frequently, or think about similar conceptual items like “termination date” that are contract ubiquitous, you might consider using the summary module. This does take more time to set up and even potentially test the output with some iterative steps, so make sure your use case is solid before creating your own.
            • Examples:
              • Say you want to know the same 7 questions from multiple PPA’s, that would be a good time to reference the summary module.
              • You have multiple questions surrounding a topic, like how pricing works within a PPA.
              • You may also have related questions about a topic, such as what actions trigger indemnification, does it apply to 3rd party claims, and are attorney’s fees included?
            • Why It’s Important: Helps users ask a repeated set of questions to create a cliff-note style summary of specific questions.
          • Diligence Tool & PowerReg (Multi-Doc Q&A for Contracts & Regulations)
            • Supports up to 100 PDF or Word files. .
            • How a Prompt is Used: Users ask detailed, yet iterative, back and forth questions to get precise answers from their contracts. Combine contracts & regulations together to query multiple contracts at the same time.
            • Example Prompt:
              • “What are the change-of-control provisions in this agreement, and how do they affect assignment rights?”
              • “List all compliance requirements from this interconnection agreement and match them with relevant ISO tariffs.”
            • Why It’s Important: Saves time by allowing users to have a quick conversation style information session with your document without the templates of the Summary module or the structured output of ClauseSense.
            • Why It’s Important: Ensures contracts align with evolving industry regulations, reducing risk.
          • ClauseSense: ContractPower designs the prompts for ClauseSense support. This is because we analyze each paragraph with an extremely long prompt, instead of using the semantic search that the Summary and Diligence tools utilize. ContractPower will support your requests to create a ClauseSense, just ask us!

Open Tenant Architecture

With open tenant architecture, users at ContractPower benefit from a system that remembers and reuses their uploaded documents, summary modules, and extracted outputs—so they never have to reprocess the same content twice. What one person uploads the other can see, and the same is true with generated content in the Summary module. This means users can return to their files anytime, build on prior work, and share results across teams without duplicating effort. It ensures continuity, reduces processing time and cost, and allows teams to stay aligned with a single source of truth. Ultimately, it streamlines workflows and boosts productivity by making every insight reusable and instantly accessible.
